Remember....

Remember the day in 1914,
When the world turned dull and the nations turned mean.
Along those English troops sailed, so brave and so tall,
Clueless of their rivals that will soon make them fall.
It’s crazy to think how much had to go,
To the war that started 100 years ago.
Remember the day in 1915,
When the world stayed dull and the nations stayed mean.
It was the day New Zealand joined the war,
The Turks shot them dead, nowhere near Gallipoli’s core.
It’s crazy to think what we now know,
Happened so fast only 100 years ago.
